The making of a shirt.

For my second project, I had to make a shirt. I started off designing some of my own shirt designs where I focused on the basic details of a shirt e.g, buttons, darts, pockets collars ect.

These are pocket designs that I drew of the different shapes of pockets that are used on shirts.

My next task was to create samples on the sewing machine of experimenting with different techniques and so I could get used to the sewing machine before I went onto make my shirt. I struggled with the speed of it at first as it wasn't what I was used to, previously coming from a-level textiles I had been used to a basic sewing machine and that was a big jump to the industry machines that I'm now using.
These are my first samples I made on the sewing machine.

After creating my samples, I went onto making my pattern pieces for my shirt. When I first began this task I struggled a lot as it was all very new to me. It took me a while to get the hang of it but I think after a few attempts I will start to grasp the process of pattern cutting.
