Designing process - First project.

To start the designing process for this project, I began creating thumbnails of garments inspired by Antoni Gaudi's architecture. I took elements from Gaudi's creations and combined them into my designs by re-creating the colours he used, detailing and structure of the garment.

The next task I did was to create a collection of designs. I went through my thumbnails and choose which garment designs had the same detail, colour, patterns on them to form a collection. After deciding which of my designs I was putting into a collection, I started thinking about my colour scheme. I went back to my sketchbook and looked at the colours I had used in their to create my colour palette.

This is my first collection "Cut out."

The collection "Cut out" is inspired by this image of Gaudi's iron gate.

The second collection I designed "Gems" is mosaic inspired. The colourful jewels on the designs are put together and shaped in the style of mosaic. I also tried to re-create the shape of Gaudi's architecture on the garments.

I was inspired by this mosaic architectures colours and structure.
My third and last collection is called "Squareside." I used two different tones of blue to really re-create the image of Gaudi's Gingerbread house.
Images where I got my inspiration from.

After creating my collections I then went onto design flats of the garments I chose for my final line up.

This is my final line up of my designs. The designing process for this project was my favorite part as I got to experiment with different designs, colours and detailing  and as I gathered all my inspiration from Antoni Gaudi's architecture the idea's for my designs came fairly quick to me.
